Today I want to share some thoughts on what I consider to be the best full size SUV on the market : the
Mercedes-Benz GL450. Introduced in 2007, the GL has basically wiped-out the Lexus LX470 which held the number one spot in that category for many years. The sharp and modern look of the GL associated with a smart interior layout and tons of advanced features eliminated the LX470 and keeps the pale and ugly Lexus LX570 at the bottom of the barrell. The GL offers a choice of engines V8 4.7 liter (GL450), V8 5.5 liter (GL550) and turbo diesel (GL320 CDI). I think the GL450 is a great compromise with plenty of power (335HP) and torque for the most reasonable budget. Here at

customer is thrilled with theirs. Personally I enjoy the thrust of the engine that gets in terms of power and fuel effeciency better results than bigger domestic V8. This sophisticated engine is associated with a razor-edge 7 speed transmission that offers smooth and precise shifting. As always with a Mercedes Benz vehicle the braking is first in class. You can really drive this large SUV like a regular Mercedes or BMW sedan. It's fantastic frame and suspension make the vehicle react exactly the way you want and that's a huge factor safety wise. I don't have to say that all these dynamic qualities are matched with impeccable craftsmanship in the cabin. Leather, wood trims and carpets are high caliber. Instruments and commands are like it should be on a Mercedes-Benz : perfect. You can seat 7 people and the third row seating (2) folds flat with the touch of a button to offer a huge cargo area. The ride, even at speed, is by far the most quiet in it's class. As you can feel,
